New meets Old: Renovation and Extension Project

Chert and Lias Stone Cottage
This is the new oak truss waiting to be installed in the roof. The joints are pegged for a traditional approach to the design. The new walls are 600mm thick in order to have structurally stable stonework, and 100mm of insulation. Dressed Limestone cill pieces have been chosen to complement the Chert , which is the creamy coloured local stone which is being used. The stone choice is an exact
