Project w38

The Western ticket Hall for London Underground Circle and District Line, at Kings Cross St Pancras was scheme designed by Brunskill Design. The strategy was developed to save huge costs of a crossing under the road further up towards Pentonville Rd. We suggested creating a link into St Pancras, a link to the south side of Euston Rd and a link into the main kings cross ticket hall. A large sewer had to be rebuilt to enable the ticket hall to be built. Images of the link are included here also. We created the design for new arched brickwork, some fake riveting (!) and bespoke lighting in this area – it was designed to be very simple in appearance. Also natural lighting was introduced at the front of the hotel by means of glazed rooflight strips. There was quite a deal of associated rebuild work of original fabric, in order to make the design buildable.
