This is an underground station. Brunskill design were team leader for the scheme and detail design stages. It is now the First Capital Connect station at St Pancras. Particular aspects of interest include:
generous platform width
– really wide entrances to platform to make the whole place feel spacious an less congested. These entrances have a blue glass strip indicating where they are
– built in bespoke seating, suitable for disabled passengers
– integrated smoke doors – invisibly integrated with wall claddings
– the use of bespoke lighting to wash the walls with light rather than send glare into passengers eyes.
– bespoke acoustic absorbing panels in the ceiling of concourses
